Sample Dialogue 2

先輩：あ、まずい、お金がない！けいちゃん、あの、悪いんだけど、ちょっと1000円貸してくれない？ Mazui, okanega nai! Kei chan, ano, waruin dakedo, chotto sen en kashite kurenai? ‘Shoot, not enough money! Kei, I’m sorry but can you loan me 1000 yen for just a while?’

後輩：あの、すみません、今月ちょっときびしいんですけど。 Ano, sumimasen, kongetsu chotto kigishiin desukedo. ‘Well, I’m sorry but my budget is tight this month.’

先輩：えー、そんなこと言わないで、コンサート見られないから。あの、このコンサートが終わったらすぐATMに行ってお金返すからさ。 Ee, sonna koto iwanaide, konsaato mirarenai kara. Ano, kono konsaatoga owattara sugo ATMni itte okane kaesu karasa. ‘Oh, don’t say that. I won’t be able to see the concert. I’ll go to an ATM and pay you back immediately after the concert.’

後輩：そうですか。 Sou desuka? ‘Really?’

先輩：うん。 Un. ‘Yeah.’

後輩：じゃあ、わかりました。 Jaa, wakari mashita. ‘Okay, all right.’

先輩：ありがとう。 Arigatou. ‘Thanks.’

後輩：はい。 Hai. ‘Sure.’
