Narrative
My research, teaching and community engagement activities focus on second/foreign language acquisition and teaching in post-secondary and adult basic education settings. I study the impact of alphabetic literacy on oral language processing in second-language acquisition, and the impact of social context on cognitive processes of second language learning. I work through CARLA on collaborative projects with colleagues in CEHD, CLA and OIP to improve the quality of foreign language learning and teaching in the U.S.
